Nordest Cycles introduce the new Bardino 2, a hardtail bike frame designed for enduro, the evolution of the brand’s “best seller” presented 2 years ago.

The frame

With nearly 600 frames sold in two years and in 46 countries, the first version of the Bardino has positioned itself among the best hardtail enduro frames of all time. Champion of the Finnish Hardtail Enduro Cup and with several podiums in other countries, it has been chosen by many as the frame for everything and everyone, experts or beginners in the most radical mountain bike.

The new Nordest Bardino 2 hardtail enduro frame design by Pedro Jerónimo is the evolution demanded by the market and seeks to put itself back at the forefront of the speciality. The surgical changes, just where our customers requested it, aims to further improve the model’s climbing capabilities and transfer more weight to the front wheel, thus getting extra support in the front wheel.

And how did we do that? Very simple: with the same short 425mm chainstays for 29er 2.6″ maximum tyres, a 75º seat tube angle, increased reach in all sizes for the same position on the frame with 40mm stem and 64,5º head tube angle for 160mm forks with 20% SAG. Small changes that will delight many riders!

We have also developed for this model a new design for the yoke, made in CNC and visually integrated in the right chainstay.

Tested to the limit by riders from different countries, part of its development has taken place in Zone Zero Ainsa, Portugal, Ireland and Finland over the last year.

The frame is manufactured in CRMO 4130 double butted tubing, with an advanced study of geometry designed by Nordest, has been tested by riders with excellent results in all conditions. FOR 31.6mm seat post with internal cable routing.

Designed for a 160 mm front suspension travel (allows from 140 mm to 170 mm) and compatible with 27.5er x 3″ or 29er x 2.6″ wheels, the safety in descents and cornering is simply incredible.

The frame is sold loose or in kit with the fork FOX 36 FACTORY GRIP2 KASHIMA or MARZOCCHI Z1 BOMBER, always with 160mm travel, and with Cane Creek 40 headset also included..

The frame includes the seat post clamp, dropouts and rear thru-axle 12x148mm.

Second edition of Endurama 2018, El Real de San Vicente.

Yesterday we enjoyed the second edition of Endurama 2018 in El Real de San Vicente, we could see the spectacle of the race and after it we set up our stand with a couple of bikes to meet all the friends who came.
As you know we are sponsoring the hardtail category and the winner of the general will take a Bardino frame.
In a day in which the weather has allowed us to enjoy the magnificent landscapes of Real de San Vicente, Alvaro Martín Requejo has won the rigid category again after passing the 4 time trial sections.
The terrain was dry, perfect for dream trails, very fast and with some technical parts. The last stretch ended in the steep streets of the village.

Presentación de la Nordest Lacrau

This afternoon there will be a presentation of the new Nordest Lacaru in Lisbon, a bad boy titanium MTB, which has been much rumoured lately. Today we will finally pull the sheet and show this machine in all its splendour.

4º 48 HOUR OVERNIGHT CAMP (S48O) do PORTUGAL BIKEPACKING – NORDESTE

We proudly announce the collaboration of Nordest Cycles as guest in the 4º 48 HOUR OVERNIGHT CAMP (S48O) do PORTUGAL BIKEPACKING – NORDESTE.

Portugal Bikepacking has invited us to design a route in El Nordeste, the northeast region of Portugal, where the spirit of Nordest Cycles lives. The characteristics of this land make El Nordeste the ideal place to test our next creation: the Nordest Sardinha.

Sardinha prototype will ride on the mountains of El Nordeste to test its geometry and behavior, will be a 4130 chromoly steel bikepacking designed to enjoy kilometers and kilometers of travel with maximum comfort and reliability.

We will meet on the afternoon of September 22 in the small town of Carçao, in the region of Vimioso, to depart on the 23rd and return to the same place on September 24, having visited the regions of Vimioso and Miranda do Douro, and the villages of Argozelo, Caçarelhos, Duas Igrejas, Atenor, Algoso and Santulhão, recreating one of the ancient routes of the almocreves, merchants who sold local products that transported with donkeys among the different villages of El Nordeste.

We will stop over at AEPGA place, in the village of Atenor.

Nordest Bardino Ti

Today it’s a very special day for us. We take the next step along the way presenting our Nordest Bardino Ti: exactly the same geometry than her steel sister but full titanium. This material allow us to continue with the same feelings than the steel version but with a significant weight saving. We reduce the steel weight a 30% until 1.859 gr (4.1 lbs) size M/L. This model is made in 2 different titanium alloys (3Al-2.5V y 6Al-4V) depending the frame area and tube and are welded with pure titanium (CP).

It’s a frame we’re we turned our dreams in reality, merging the experience of Jerónimo Cycles in design and manufacture titanium frames with our young Nordest Cycles brand that contribute with the geometry and illusion of a bike that now it’s travelling to the new owners around 16 countries worldwide.

This frame will be made by order in 4 different sizes, with an estimated time of 10 weeks. This frame will appear on our website in the same format of the Bardino steel frame as frame only, custom kit and 2 complete bikes M2 and M1. All this at a price that is more than competitive in which we have also wanted to demarcate ourselves of any other brand: 1.299,00 € price of the frame with shipping included in the European Community. A spectacular price for incredible sensations in this exclusive frame.

We proudly present the last version of Nordest Bardino frame. We made just a couple of sightly modifications over the frames that we were testing this months. We have modified the cabe routing hangers for a secure and fastest version and also had included the “Careto” in the chainstay, near the bottom bracket. What do you think? We’re felt in love…
